​The remains of the air shooter Alexander Osintsev, who was killed during the Great Patriotic War, are buried in Izhevsk

On June 18, on the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, the remains of a native Izhevsk citizen, an air gunner, a member of the crew of the DB-3A aircraft, senior sergeant Alexander Osintsev, who died in August 1941 in the Novgorod region, were buried in a solemn ceremony at the military memorial of the Northern Cemetery.

A commemorative event began with the burial service of the deceased warrior in the Temple of Holy Royal Martyrs. Many people attended the civil funeral at the military memorial: Deputies of the State Duma of Russia Alexei Zagrebin, Valery Buzilov, Ildar Bikbaev, Chief Federal Inspector for the Udmurt Republic Dmitry Musin, Chairman of the State Council of the Udmurt Republic Alexei Prasolov, Head of the Administration of the Head of the Government of the Udmurt Republic Sergey Smirnov, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Udmurt Republic Vladimir Solovyov, Chairman of the City Duma of Izhevsk Oleg Garin, Acting Deputy Chief of the Administration of the City of Izhevsk Dmitry Chistyakov, Head of the Kholmsky Municipal District, Novgorod Region Vitaly Saliaev, the deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Dagestan, the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the workers of the home front, the veterans of the Armed Forces, representatives of the youth public organization "Dolg" in the Udmurt Republic, the rescue team "Pyramid" from the city of Kholm in the Novgorod region, students and pupils of the cadet classes and military-patriotic clubs, relatives of the deceased fighters and residents of Izhevsk.

Deputy of the State Duma of Russia, chairman of the Council of the regional public fund of rescue groups of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ildar Bikbaev emphasized that only during the last year the rescue team members found 30 flight crews that fought during the Great Patriotic War, names of 10 fighters, who were reported missing, are identified now. It includes the air gunner Alexander Vasilievich Osintsev. And the search works on the battlefields continue.

"I would like to thank the Administration of the city of Izhevsk, the leadership of the ‘Izhevsk Motorcycle Plant’ Axion Holding Company’. Thanks to the participation of the Axion Corporation in returning the remains of Senior Sergeant Osintsev to the homeland," said Alexei Zagrebin, State Duma deputy.

Mikhail Brynev, the commander of the rescue group “Pyramid” of the city of Kholm in the Novgorod Region, said that two years ago in the Rdeisky marshes the crash site was located, and despite all the difficulties of the search operation, the remains of two members of the bomber crew were raised on the surface of the ground. One of them is an air gunner, senior sergeant Alexander Osintsev, a native of Izhevsk. On May 4 of this year, on the Kholm land, they transferred the remains of the air gunner Alexander Osintsev to his grand-nephew Vitaly Osintsev.

"We went to the archive, found Alexander Osintsev’s personal file, and it turned out that he is a graduate of the Izhevsk Industrial Technical School where I am currently teaching, and the students of this technical school are participating in search expeditions, and then the relatives of the deceased soldier were also found,” said the chairman of the youth public organization "Dolg" in the Udmurt Republic Fail Ibraghimov.

Military Memorial of the Northern Cemetery of Izhevsk, where the solemn ceremony was held, also keeps a memory of the terrible events of the military hard times, and soldiers who died of wounds in hospitals are buried here. And now here rests Alexander Vasilievich Osintsev.

Chairman of the City Duma of Izhevsk Oleg Garin noted the contribution of residents of the capital of Udmurt Republic, who participated in achieving the Great Victory, an important mission of rescue groups, who return the names of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War from non-existence.

Ashes of the senior sergeant Alexander Osintsev were buried on June 18 to the sounds of the Hymn of the Russian Federation and the gun salvos. A commemorative event at the Northern Cemetery ended with a minute of silence, a cadet parade and a laying of the flowers at the monument to the deceased from wounds in the hospitals of Izhevsk during the Great Patriotic War.

Information

Alexander Osintsev was born in Izhevsk on September 18, 1917, graduated from the Izhevsk Industrial College. He worked at the Izhevsk Motorcycle Plant. From May 25, 1938, he worked at the Plant №74 (Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant) in a department number 41 as a deputy head of the Quality control. On September 15, 1938, he was called up to the Red Army.

The crew of the DB-3A, in which the senior sergeant Alexander Osintsev fought, was a member of the 22nd long-range bomber air regiment and was shot down on August 7, 1941.
